Chronic wound care has improved tremendously through the years due to technological advancements and medical innovations. However, wound care does not only mean the application of a wound dresssing merely. The wound should be evaluated aetiologically, and care should be planned according to the disruption in which stage of the healing has occurred [1]. The patient must be evaluated as a whole, and all systemic disturbances should be determined such as blood sugar irregularity in a diabetic foot patient and venous hypertension in a venous ulcer patient.

The annual Scientific and Training Congress of the Polish Wound Management Association took place in Lochow from 6–8 June 2024. The meeting brought together over 500 participants and many medical companies. Blepharoplasty is a procedure aimed at correcting the eyelids and restoring the proper tension to the skin of the eyelids. Indications for the procedure can be divided into cosmetic, which result in visual rejuvenation of the patient, and functional, which are aimed at improving functioning. The procedure is commonly performed with Vicryl, polypropylene, nylon, fast-absorbing sutures or cyanoacrylate tissue adhesives. The most commonly used surgical suturing techniques include interrupted cutaneous, running cutaneous and subcutaneous continuous. The procedure can cause side effects, the most serious of which is intraorbital hemorrhage, which can lead to loss of vision.

The ways to shorten the healing time of hard to heal wounds are still being sought. A prolonged inflammatory phase stops the healing process. The combination of hyaluronic acid and amino acids such as lysine, proline, leucine and glycine, which have unique wound-promoting properties, can be successfully used in the treatment of hard to heal wounds by accelerating the granulation process and reducing inflammation.
