Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Readers, We are entering a new era in the creation and development of “Leczenie Ran | Polish Journal of Wound Management”. After years of leadership and setting new directions in the field of wound prevention and treatment, Prof. Arkadiusz Jawień, MD, PhD, DSc, has handed over the editorship of the journal to his successors. This is a special honour for us editors, but also a considerable challenge to meet expectations and ensure the continued development of the journal.

Dear Readers, this issue of our journal opens with an editorial reporting on an exciting initiative that the Polish Wound Management Association has been thinking and working on recently. Finally, on 9 October 2024, a meeting took place in Warsaw, where an agreement for professional wound therapy was decided. This is a landmark moment in the history of wound treatment in Poland.
The annual Scientific and Training Congress of the Polish Wound Management Association took place in Lochow from 6–8 June 2024. The meeting brought together over 500 participants and many medical companies. The scientific programme of the congress was structured to ensure a high scientific level and extensive opportunities for practical sessions to learn about new products and their clinical application. Sessions with guests from abroad were of great interest. Prof. Hacan Uncu, a vascular surgeon from Ankara, and Prof. Gaye Filinte, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon from Istanbul, both came to our congress in person. Their excellent…

The last issue of “Leczenie Ran | Polish Journal Wound Management” in 2023, which is being handed over to you today, concludes an excellent change for our journal. The year 2023 was marked by a change of publisher, the introduction of new (including international) members of the Scientific Council, and the decision to publish our journal in an English-language version.
