LECZENIE RAN 2024; 21 (4)

Od Redakcji | From the Editor

Dear Readers,

the current issue of our journal opens with an editorial on chronic wounds in gynaecology and obstetrics. Wound management in these disciplines is a major challenge due to the diverse causes of the development of chronic wounds in women, the diagnostic difficulties, and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to wound management to reduce the negative impact of existing wounds and the entire healing process on reproductive health, and to improve women’s quality of life.

A continuation of the theme of difficult-to-heal wounds in gynaecology is presented in this paper, describing the health problems of patients with wounds of the vaginal and perineal walls. Appropriate topical therapy, education, and nutritional support led to wound healing and improved patient function.

The following papers, which contain case reports, are also interesting and deserve attention.

The authors’ meticulous descriptions of the patients’ clinical conditions and complex diagnostic and therapeutic management are medical experiences worthy of consideration and use in your daily practice with patients in a similar clinical situation.

All the papers included in the “Polish Journal of Wound Management” book that is being distributed to you have in common the professional and effective use of approaches based on scientific evidence, guidelines, and expert recommendations in the treatment of difficult-to-heal and complicated wounds.

I wish all our readers an enjoyable read.

On behalf of the Editorial Committee and Scientific
Council of the “Leczenie Ran | Polish Journal
of Wound Management”
