LECZENIE RAN 2023; 20 (2)

Od Redakcji | From the Editor

Dear Sirs,

As of 1 May 2023, our magazine “Leczenie Ran” ended its cooperation with the Termedia Publishing House after more than three years.

The 2nd issue of 2023 a lready appears in a new layout, as proposed by the Moc Media Publishing House managed by Ms Sylwia Chrabałowska. The new Publisher means a new opening of our journal to the problems related to the broad issue of medical management of chronic wounds in our country and the whole world.

Because we are opening up to Europe and the world, we are adding the English title “Polish Journal of Wound Management” to the Polish name of our journal. We want to be visible worldwide, and we want to attract contributors from all over the world. We want papers from Polish centres to be prepared and printed in English, and we are also open to accepting and publishing papers from abroad. In Central and Eastern Europe, there is a lack of an international journal talking about wound treatment issues, so there seems to be a real possibility of interest from potential authors from these regions to cooperate with our journal.

We have already made the first steps in this direction, and I am pleased to announce that such eminent persons have accepted the invitation to the Scientific Council of our journal as Prof. Harikrishna K.R. Nair from Malaysia, Dr Magdalena Annersten Gershater from Sweden, and Prof. Hakan Uncu and Prof. Gaye Filinte from Turkey. Their presence and involvement are already evident in the current issue in the form of a piece from Turkey.

The recently launched new website of our journal, https://pjwm.mocmedia.eu, is designed not only to post the next issues of the journal, but it also contains an archive of all the papers published so far and has a special panel for the procedure and communication with the authors of submitted papers. All you have to do is register to this portal; everything is immediately available because our journal operates under the open-access formula. Our journal remains quarterly.

We realize that we have a difficult road ahead of us. However, seeing the growing recognition of the Polish Wound Management Association in Poland and within European structures, especially the European Wound Management Association (EWMA), our activities should achieve the desired goal relatively quickly. Of course, this will not happen on its own. Hence, we invite all Polish Wound Management Association members to consolidate their scientific activities and submit original, review and review papers and interesting case reports. From our side, we declare that the Editorial Committee and Scientific Council of “Leczenie Ran | Polish Journal of Wound Management” will not only support the authors in the correct preparation of the papers but will also guarantee appropriate and rapid processing of qualified scientific papers for publication. Let’s not forget that it is only possible to practice science by writing and publishing scientific papers.

In the belief that the proposed changes in the publication of “Leczenie Ran” with the prominent organizational and logistical support of the new Publisher of our journal, Moc Media, will result in an invigoration and willingness to cooperate with us, I invite everyone to interact constructively for the benefit of science and for the welfare of our patients.

On behalf of the Editorial Committee and Scientific
Council of the “Leczenie Ran | Polish Journal
of Wound Management”
